Speaking of LSCC (http://www.londonsupercomicconvention.com/) I am really looking forward to this not only for the Graphic Novel but for me this is my Music Festival season is the convention season. I mean I've been to a couple of music festivals but I feel that I get the same amount of excitement from a con at a fraction of the price (though if Metallica, the rest of the Big 4 and Green Day ever do a music festival together my tune might change). My worry for this year is what to dress up as. I got three options one Captain America from the film where he goes to rescue Bucky and the howling commandos, two Tony Stark when he's working on the Iron Man suit (as I got an arc reactor tattoo this gives me the chance to use it and show it off) and three Nathan Drake from Uncharted 3 as I have got a lot of the bits already apart from the gun holsters. I would like to do Cap the most but it is going to take the most time and money to do both of which I don't have so I may do Tony as I'd prefer to keep it in comics than Video games! And I may do Cap for another comic convention later on in the year.
Review Section
The comic I've decided to do this time round is Marvel's Civil War. This is a comic that a treasure for a few different reasons. One it's the first comic I got signed, two it's got one of my favourite pieces of comic art in it which is Captain America surfing a fighter jet whilst escaping SHIELD. And three it is written by one of the best modern comic writers Mark Millar! On a side note I am kinda upset that there isn't going to be a Kapow this year as I loved the panels at them last year. Anyways the story is that after a big explosion involving a group of small time superheroes taking down a supervillain who literally self-destructs. After this series of events the Government want to enforce all superheroes to be government employed agents but on the flipside give up their secret identities. From this two sides form and it isn't between good and evil it's between a team who don't want to be registered (led by Captain America) and a team who do want to be registered (led by Iron Man). Fantastically well written and lots of great art it is answers a lot of questions of a lot of geeky question of who would win when...A great read for anyone getting into comics or even the experienced comic reader!
Lets wrap this blog post up now as I need to get back to my other projects. So for Geekdom, Games and Comics this is Oliver Bulcraig saying Good Day, I said Good Day!
